Woah, thats beautiful

A load of these seem stupidly fake. Why would you fake them? It calls into question the others, but the ones which look real enough are very good.
|
|
| | Charlie [profile] Says:
Ok looking again it looks like most of these arn’t real but i have to ask why bother making fakes when you can take photos just as beatiful without shop programmes?
|
|
| | John Says:
Just get over it. If you think they are fake or if you think they are real, just enjoy the beauty of the pictures. Don’t ruin it for the rest of us with your stupid comments about how you think they are fake or real or whatever. They are beautiful pictures.

|
| | WHO CARES Says:
you morons who think they’re fake/real are just polluting the internet. Are you so trendy and sheep-like that you must comment as such? Prove they’re fake…. that’s what I thought.

The full moon is never bigger than a quarter held five feet away. That being said, the pictures above with any landscape in the foreground are obviously photoshopped. This is often done to make the images more outstanding, enhancing brightness and natural features of the moon. In spite of that, most of the pictures are very beautiful.

It’s called a ZOOM LENS…photographers use ‘em…when they take photo’s…
The outside world holds far more beauty than some people will ever realize.

ugh i knew some idiots would come calling this fake. the moon is ABSOLUTELY bigger than a “quarter held five feet away” – that’s a terrible platitude with no foundation in reality.
the moon appears larger when it’s closer to the horizon because there is a guide for judging its size relative to earthly objects. when it’s in the middle of the sky, it’s the same size, but it doesn’t appear that way because you have nothing to compare it to. the one with the space shuttle is particularly interesting – the scenery is very far away. but remember that the moon is huge.
these aren’t fakes. anyone who claims they are needs to learn about spatial perception.
|
|
| | Solaria Says:
Yeah, that spatial perception thing can be confusing…
But one or two jump out as really obvious, bad fakes….
Take pic #20 for example. Nice picture of the setting sun and the full moon in the same frame. In my solar system, the setting sun and the full moon would be on opposite sides of the horizon, not next to each other in the sky. Oh, and how do you account for the clouds IN BACK of the moon??
Scroll back a few to pic #14. Same deal: a full moon in the sunset. Doesn’t work. Where’s the light coming from that illuminates the moon?
|
|
| | Alex [profile] Says:
Haha. Luke, you’re bad at this game.
|
|
| | lol [profile] Says:
ok luke, if all of these are real, how do you explain the one with the huge, fake moon, next to the real moon. # 13 if i counted correctly.

| | ryan Says:
It is very difficult to have a full moon right next to a rising or setting sun

God what a crap stumble.
Who gets off on this stuff? Pictures of the moon? Are you serious?
PROTIP: Go outside and *look* at it, you grubby internet dweebs.

| | jezzz Says:
Ok i have seen the sun rise and the moon just setting on the same side a couple of times. Maybe in the south you guys dont get that. In canada you somtimes do get the odd day where the moon and sun are in the same proximity. and who gives a flying F**** about whether they are real or not. oh by the way the moon does appear in the sky during the day. Look it up. even if fake im sure most of us could figure it out. thank you and good day.

|
| | katy Says:
i think that the pictures are cool
and most of them look real to me
the one with the sun setting confused me for a second…but who even cares, it’s still pretty.

| | jayextoo Says:
they are all shopped if you look at the edge of all the moons there are three spots? followed by the rest of the pattern. its the same on all the moons but rotated. and who cares , i care post it as cool photoshopped moon pics. stop fooling people cuz some ARE that dumb.

dudes! you’re all right… but one minor detail the pictures are real!! the actual moon you see out your window, that is fake. its photo shopped by that big hacker in the sky

| | ellen Says:
Man all of these people saying they’re fake are stupid. Have they ever seen a moon? God.
|
|
| | Rationalist [profile] Says:
All these people who are amateurs at photoshop will not understand how photoshoppers know how most of these are manipulated. That’s fine and expected. But, for those that believe all of these are photographs, not manipulations, explain this: how did the clouds get BEHIND the moon on a number of these images?

This thread is hilarious. It’s the kind of thing that makes me want to hide out on top of a city building and….well, nevermind about that. Yes, the pictures are photoshopped. One has the moon IN FRONT of clouds, which is impossible.
It’s interesting that such imposing images can be made by ploinking an oversized moon into them.
Real, fake, stupid, amazing, who cares. I’m glad the internet is theoretically infinite so there is room for good webpages outside this pointless nonsense.

Beautiful photos, really.
I do have to laugh at the one with the big moon photoshopped in directly next to the real moon in the picture. That photoshopper wasn’t too bright, eh?

The moon looks different from different places in the world. Sounds crazy, but so do most of you. Stop trying to sound smart and back-up your rediculous statements.

Fake? Not fake? Does it really matter? Well, not to me anyways.
Either way some of these pictures are awesome. Thanks for the post, I enjoyed looking at them
