ZG- the trees in the back ground are free of ice becuase the ground, stairs and (frozen) trees are facing the ocean/lake/pond, or whatever body of water that is, there was probably a lot high winds and the water (in the form of waves, spray, mist, etc) was blown there and froze during the storm.

But it looks like only one side of what seams like a water front property is affected by this, the background stuff wouldn’t have gotten hit. Check pic #2 where only one side is all icy and shit
