While many of you (including me, of course) are preparing to spend a lovely weekend, there are people out there who jsut don’t know what the rest is like. The Marathon des Sables which is considered to be the toughest foot race on Earth ended just a couple of days ago where 900 athletes from around the world had to prove their abilities by walking about 152 miles (245 kilometres) on foot under the burning sun of the southern Moroccan desert. According to the rules of the marathon, the runners have to carry the amount of food enough for one week, flares and snake antidote by themselves while only water is provided by the organisers. How hard is that?

In the Wijnegem Shopping Centre near Antwerpen, Belgium a group of activists is trying to hold a new record. The Champagne Fountain will consist of 43 000 glasses, will be almost 23 feet high and will weigh about 9 tons.

These people can’t live without extreme! With the absense of necessary equipment it takes quite uncommon forms making these activities by far more dangerous! Never try to repeat any of them at home!

Check out this stunning underwater sculpture park created by artist Jason Taylor in Grenada. The sculptures are 2-8 meters underwater, which makes them ideally suited for scuba divers and snorkelers. Each piece is a permanent ocean floor fixture, which means they will act as an artificial reef for corals, algae, and sponges. In turn, this makes the area an ideal home and breeding area for fish, turtles, and other sea creatures.
